I’d normally tumble this, but it seemed more fitting here

22 May

“The will to blog is a complicated thing, somewhere between inspiration and compulsion. It can feel almost like a biological impulse. You see something, or an idea occurs to you, and you have to share it with the Internet as soon as possible. What I didn’t realize was that those ideas and that urgency — and the sense of self-importance that made me think anyone would be interested in hearing what went on in my head — could just disappear. “

Who cares if 8 million people don’t read it. If only one person reads it and gets something out of it then it was worth putting out there.

I get something out of every post you do.

    Me too…
Aside from the fact that I love hearing about what’s going on in your life (or brain), you always manage to inspire me to do something – write a post of my own, cook something, research a question. I ALWAYS get a jolt of excitement when I see that you’ve posted because I know that I will soon be off on some fascinating treasure hunt.

That last post of yours? Yeah. To it all. Especially the last line about all of a sudden remembering. There’s no next child for whom we’ll parent better.

    She is gorgeous and joyful.

She may not have inherited her temperament from you, but remember, it IS a two-way street. She may yet end up being the cure for what ails you. Her sunniness may just prove highly contagious.

    Hang in there, babe.

I want to know what sort of help you’ve got to deal with this—it’s not just a “whatever, pull up your big girl britches and get over it” thing.

I needed at least a year to process when I got my news.

This is big. It’s big period, all of it, but it’s big because it is down to your core from the sounds of it.

Your girl is beautiful and trust me: she is that way because of you, too.

I’m glad you’re writing, even a little. It doesn’t have to be an urgency. It’s a muscle. Build up.

Two sentences a day. Then three.
